Not being able to get up without outside assistance can greatly affect your quality of life. This problem is something that predominately affects seniors, but also people of any age. Finding a way to safely stand independently is very important and lift chair recliners are one type of device that can help.
Lift chair recliners are a special type of chair that raises its occupant to their feet. It slowly moves upwards and angles the seat slightly, so the occupant can exit the chair in a near standing position. These chairs are today controlled electronically and use a very strong lifting arm that, depending on the model, can support over seven hundred pounds.
Not only do these chairs offer a safe way to stand or sit, they also are extremely comfortable. The chair can be reclined to make an excellent platform for sleeping, reading, or watching television. Not all lift chairs recline to the same degree though. They are generally classified by how far they can recline.
A two position chair can recline to about forty-five degrees and a three position chair is able to recline nearly horizontal. One other type, infinite position chairs, are similar to three position chairs, but they allow the backrest and footrest to be controlled separately. This means that with an infinite position chair, it is possible to recline the back, but leave the footrest down.
Using a lift chair is widely accepted as one of the best ways to ensure that someone is able to safely stand without any help.
