One would never consider standards movements such as standing and sitting a privilege. Unfortunately, some do. Some people aren’t able to perform these simple tasks without the help of assistance or aid. There are myriad of reasons as to why this happens to some people. Despite this setback, there is a solution that can make life easier: a lift chair.
A lift chair is a type of home medical equipment that takes the strain off individuals who are unable to sit or stand. The base of a lift chair has a moto
rized lifting base that helps those who are mobility challenged easily come to a standing position. They move at a very slow and steady pace and can also be used to come to a sitting position in a controlled manner. The base slowly raises the chair into the air at an angle that makes it easier for the person to stand or sit down. They are also fully functioning recliners and allow the backrest and leg-rest to be controlled by remote control, thus making the act of sitting and standing easier for the individual.
Weight and height play a huge role in what type of lift chair that will be bought. It is always best to obtain the correct measurements of the current chair that you own before buying a lift chair. It is best to make sure that this information is correct or otherwise, one will end up with a product that isn’t very beneficial to there situation. Lift chairs are very beneficial for those who are unable to stand or sit down. If one measures their current chair correctly and also gives their exact height and weight, then that person will have no problem with being able to stand or sit again.

Lift chairs were first introduced in the early 1980’s and today are a popular mobility aid used worldwide to help people who have difficulty standing without assistance. In addition to providing a safe way to stand and sit, many also include features like heat and massage. The footrest and backrest are controlled remotely as well, which greatly adds to these chairs comfort.
When buying a lift chair, you can often find some of the lowest prices available if you shop online. Most brick and mortar companies that offer lift chairs for sale do so at a higher rate than online stores. This does not mean you have to order completely online though, because a reputable online dealer will also have a call center that can help answer your questions or aid you in placing the order.
Many online stores also offer online coupons for their products. Usually you have to sign-up to receive your coupons in emails, but some also have a weekly special page with discounted products on it.
Since you won’t get to sit in the chair before you buy it, it is generally a good idea to measure the width and depth of the seat of your current chair. This way you can compare your current chair with the measurements of the chairs you find online.
Once you have ordered the chair, they usually ship within a few days. Many companies also offer a service where they will come and set up the lift chair, remove the packaging, and demonstrate the features for you. This service costs a little extra but can be very nice, especially if you are purchasing the chair for someone else and will not be able to be there to help them with it.
A lift chair can be used to safely stand and sit, but they are recliners as well and are very comfortable. It will very quickly become your favorite place to sit and watch TV, read, sleep, and eat.

Standing and sitting is something that sounds so simple, but for millions of Americans that suffer from osteoarthritis or other mobility problems standing and sitting is not so simple. Often a case of arthritis is compounded by a decreased sense of balance that makes it very difficult and even in some cases dangerous to stand up without assistance.
A lift chair is a type of home medical equipment that can make it much easier and safer to stand or sit. The base of a lift chair contains a powerful lifting mechanism that slowly raises the chair into the air at an angle that makes it easier to stand or sit. They are also fully functioning recliners and allow the backrest and leg-rest to be controlled by remote control.
Your weight and size play a big part in deciding what type of lift chair to get. It is a good idea to measure your existing chair first before you begin to shop for lift chairs. Measure the distance between the armrests, which is called the seat width, and the distance from the backrest to the front of the seat, which is called the seat width. This way you can have a very good idea of what sized chair will or won’t work for you.
The weight capacity of the chair varies by model. Most support around 375 pounds, but dual motor lift chairs are available that can support much more. Usually the dual motor chairs offer much wider seats as well, and can be very comfortable
Depending on the model, most lift chairs need to be placed about eighteen inches from the wall, but some units are available that can be placed much closer. These types of chairs are called wall huggers and some can be placed only six inches from the wall.

Many people in America and all over the world have discovered the advantages of lift chairs. They are used by people who suffer from arthritis and those that have bad hips or neuromuscular diseases. Often those who suffer from multiple sclerosis or other spinal problems also have difficulty standing and find that they can improve their mobility and overall standard of living by using a lift chair.
Lift chairs utilize an electric motor and lift system that raises the chair into the air. They are most often controlled by an attached remote control, which since it is attached can not be lost as easily as the TV remote. Some chairs use a set of buttons that are built into the chair in place of a remote control.
The remote control or armrest buttons are also used to control the footrest and backrest. Some models called infinite position lift chairs allow the footrest and backrest to be operated independently of one another. These types of chairs can recline to a near horizontal position that makes it easy to take a nap or to sleep. 3-position lift chairs also recline to a near horizontal position, but the backrest and footrest move as a single unit. 2 position lift chairs can not recline as much as far back as 3 position chairs and infinite position chairs, but are perfect for watching TV and Eating.
Many lift chairs also use built in massage and heat to improve comfort, but this feature also helps to increase circulation. Many infinite position chairs have this feature built in or at least available.
Lift chairs provide an excellent way to make certain that people are able to stand or sit without any help or support from others. They can be easily operated and move at a very slow and stead pace that in no way jars the occupant.
